About: Private Investigator Kate Maxwell never stopped loving Luke Gallagher after he disappeared. Now he’s back, and together they must unravel a twisting thread of secrets, lies, and betrayal while on the brink of a biological disaster that will shake America to its core. Will they and their love survive, or will Luke and Kate become the terrorist’s next target?
Genre: Suspense, romance.
My Rating: 4 and 1/2 stars.
My Recommendation: 16/17 up.
My favorite character: Luke, after the first three books leaving hints of what he was like it was really neat to finally find out about one of the guys that haven’t been around but was still a big part of the series. I may not agree with some of his actions but he’s my favorite of the guys.
My verse for Luke is Colossians 1:14 In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins: (King James Version.)
And Kate, I loved seeing her in her own book. Her and Luke’s relationship was so intriguing. They were perfect together, I do wish we could have seen what they were all like in college before everything happened and their bond was broken.
My Verse for Kate is Luke 6:37 Judge not, and ye shall not be judged: condemn not, and ye shall not be condemned: forgive, and ye shall be forgiven: (King James Version.)
My thoughts: All along a mystery surrounded Luke and his disappearance, I expected some suspense but this was so much more than I expected. Which is why I’ve read the book four or five times since I got my copy when it was published. I’ve reread this so many times because there are no more books in this wonderful series. This is a need to read suspense series that you won’t regret reading.
Warnings: A character kills a person who was trying to kill them and though there aren’t many details there are still a few. Tattoos mentioned and a character admires them on another character. *gags* Quite a bit of “quick” kisses, kisses, and thoughts on nearness. *gags again* Otherwise this book is nearly perfect and the warnings are understandable since Luke does what he does. 😉
